Our founder's personal recommendation

Ever Accountable

A screenshot-accountability app. Our founder used Truple for a year, then switched to Ever Accountable and now recommends it above every other accountability app he has tested.

Short answer

Ever Accountable is a screenshot-accountability app: it periodically screenshots a device and uses AI to flag sexually explicit content, then reports to a parent or accountability partner, and it also offers blocking and filtering. Our founder used Truple for about a year, switched to Ever Accountable, and now recommends it above every other accountability app he has tested — mainly because he has found its reports noticeably more accurate than Truple’s, and because it currently costs less ($14.99/mo, or $10.75/mo billed annually, versus Truple’s $16/mo or $13.33/mo annually). This page is his personal endorsement, not yet the full, dated, hands-on review our own standards call for, and we disclose our referral relationship with Ever Accountable up front.

Key takeaways

  • Our founder switched from Truple to Ever Accountable after about a year on Truple, mainly over report accuracy, and now recommends Ever Accountable instead.
  • It’s currently the lower-cost option of the two: $14.99/mo (or $10.75/mo annually) versus Truple’s $16/mo (or $13.33/mo annually), per both vendors’ own pricing pages.

Why we recommend it

Our founder used Truple for about a year before switching to Ever Accountable. His main complaint with Truple was report accuracy: in his experience, it didn’t seem built as robustly as Covenant Eyes or Ever Accountable, and its screenshot flagging produced enough inaccurate reports that reviewing them became less useful than it should have been. Since switching, he has found Ever Accountable’s reports noticeably more accurate, and at a lower monthly cost besides. That is a specific, first-hand comparison, but it is still one family’s experience, not an independent test.

What is it?

Ever Accountable is a screenshot-accountability app: it periodically captures screenshots of a device and uses AI image analysis to flag content that appears sexually explicit, then sends a report to a parent or chosen accountability partner. Per its own vendor page, it also includes blocking and filtering on Android and iOS, one reporting user, unlimited devices, and unlimited accountability partners on every plan. This puts it in the same general category as Covenant Eyes and Truple, which our founder has also used.

Who is it for?

Families with teenagers (or adults) who want real insight into what’s actually on the screen rather than a pure wall, and who want that insight to be trustworthy. Our founder’s central reason for switching was that he didn’t trust Truple’s reports enough to rely on them.

Supported platforms

Android, iPhone/iPad, Windows, Mac, ChromeOS, and Kindle, per Ever Accountable’s own site. Screenshot accountability works on most Android apps and common iOS apps; blocking and filtering work on both Android and iOS. Feature availability varies by platform, so confirm current specifics for your child’s exact device before buying. Expert opinion

$14.99/month, or $129/year (about $10.75/month). One subscription covers unlimited devices and unlimited accountability partners. A 14-day free trial and a 90-day money-back guarantee are offered. Expert opinion

For comparison, Truple currently costs $16/month, or $13.33/month billed annually, so Ever Accountable is the lower-cost option on either billing cycle, by about $1 to $2.60 per month depending on plan. Prices were checked against the vendors’ own pages in September 2026 and change over time. Expert opinion

Strengths, as our founder sees them

  • Report accuracy. The main reason he switched: fewer inaccurate flags than he experienced with Truple over a year of use.
  • Lower cost than Truple on both monthly and annual billing, as of the pricing above.
  • Broad platform support, including Windows, Mac, and Kindle, which some competitors don’t cover.
  • Used and trusted enough by our founder to recommend above every alternative he has tested.

Where Truple fell short, in our founder’s experience

To be specific and fair: his complaint with Truple was not its concept (screenshot accountability), which he still believes is the right category of tool. It was execution. In his year of use, Truple’s reports were inaccurate often enough that he lost confidence in relying on them. That is his experience, not a documented comparison.

Alternatives

Our founder reached this recommendation after personally testing many different accountability and parental-control products, including Bark, Qustodio, Covenant Eyes, and Truple. Any of these may suit a particular family better, depending on platform, budget, and whether filtering, time control, or screenshot accountability is the priority.

A word of caution

No app changes what a child wants. An accountability tool reports on behavior and makes secrecy harder; the conversation, the relationship, and the gospel do the real work. Use the tool, and keep talking with your child.
